American Express Gold Credit Card

Offer period

The offer will start on 21 September and end on 31 October 2020. (the 'Offer Period').

Who is eligible to qualify for the offer:

Participants ('Qualifying Participants') must:

• be over the age of 18;
• be a South African resident; and
• open a new, American Express Gold Credit Card, or an American Express Platinum Credit Card during the Offer Period via the internet, through the OBTM (outbound telemarketing), IBTM (inbound telemarketing), ClearScore, Nedbank branch and via any of the affiliate marketing channels, and
• Enrol in the Membership Rewards® (MR) Program at R24 (twenty four Rand) per month for the Gold Card.
• Enrolment into the Membership Rewards® Program for the Platinum Card is automatic and there is no additional charge;
• Spend a minimum of R3500 (three thousand five hundred Rand) (eligible spend) consecutively per month for the next 5 (five) months period from account open date on the American Express Gold Credit Card, or a minimum of R7000 (seven thousand Rand) (eligible spend) per month for the next 5 (five) months period from account open date on the American Express Platinum Credit Card

This offer is open to all qualifying participants, including Nedbank staff, and staff of all our affiliate marketing partners.

The Offer

The first 150 (one hundred and fifty) applicants will get:

• R500 (five hundred rand) for the Gold Card or R1 000 (one thousand rand) for the Platinum Card, worth of Membership Rewards (MR) points paid into their Membership Rewards® account within 2 (two) weeks of opening the account,
• To continue earning R500 (five hundred rand) worth of MR points for the next 5 (five) months period from account open date, the client is required to spend a minimum of R3 500 (three thousand five hundred Rand) (eligible spend) per month consecutively for the same period on the American Express Gold Credit Card;
• To continue earning R1 000 (one thousand rand) worth of MR points for the next 5 (five) months from account open date, the clients is required to spend a minimum of R7 000 (seven thousand Rand) (eligible spend) per month consecutively for the same period on the American Express Platinum Credit Card;
• The points will be paid into their Membership Rewards® account and payment of points will begin from January 2021.

Selection of Offer Recipients

• A total of 150 (one hundred and fifty) applicants will be selected, on a first come, first served basis from the 21st of September 2020 (until such time as the 150-application threshold is reached, or until the 31st of October 2020, whichever is earliest). Once the 150 (one hundred and fifty) application threshold is reached, additional applicants will not be considered for this offer.
• Only Qualifying Participants will be considered
• Offer recipients will be informed telephonically that they have qualified and, should they meet the monthly criteria, will receive an SMS each month to confirm payment of points.
• Offer recipients will qualify to receive the offer only once all details have been verified and confirmed, including compliance with these terms and conditions and satisfying the qualifying criteria set by the Promoter.

How to qualify for the offer

• Offer recipients must spend a minimum of R3 500 (three thousand five hundred Rand) (eligible spend) per month for the 5 (five) months period from account opening on the American Express Gold Credit Card, or a minimum of R7 000 (seven thousand Rand) (eligible spend) per month from account opening for the 6 months period on the American Express Platinum Credit Card
• The Promoter of this offer will credit the offer recipients’ Membership Rewards® accounts with R500 (five hundred Rand) or R1 000 (one thousand Rand) worth of Membership Rewards® points a month for up to 5 (five) months as long as the R3 500 (three thousand five hundred Rand) or R7 000 (seven thousand Rand) spend per month requirement is met.
• The offer recipients will forfeit the remaining offer as soon as the spend threshold is not met on the card every month. -This offer is not applicable to the “old” American Express Credit Card Products, namely:

Only eligible spend will make up the R3 500 or R7000. 'Eligible spend' means all spend, excluding cash withdrawals, casino chip purchases, finance or other card charges, fees or taxes levied by us or the government, purchases of travellers cheques or other negotiable instruments, garage card transactions, budget account instalments and interest thereon, insurance premiums and internet transfers or payments on the offer recipients aforesaid Membership Rewards® accounts.

• All information relating to this offer and published on any promotional material will form part of these terms and conditions.
