Nedbank and American Express July and August 2021 Promotional Campaign

1 Promoter

Nedbank Limited (Nedbank, we, us or our) is the promotor. We issue American Express® Cards under licence in South Africa.

2 Promotion period

The promotion starts on 1 July 2021 and ends on 31 August 2021 (promotion period), subject to our early termination or extension of the promotion period.

3 How to participate in the promotion

To participate in the promotion, participants (you, your) must meet the qualifying criteria (terms and conditions) below. If you participate in the promotion, you agree that these terms and conditions apply to and bind you.

4 Qualifying criteria (terms and conditions)
To participate you must:

4.1 be 18 years or older; 4.2 be a South African citizen; 4.3 have received communication from Nedbank and, or their affiliate partners about the promotion via an email, telephone call through an outbound telemarketing (OBTM) channel, or via an SMS message; 4.4 open a new Nedbank Greenbacks gold or platinum credit card, an American Express Gold Credit Card, or an American Express Platinum Credit Card digitally or via the OBTM channels during the promotion period; and 4.4 tap or swipe your new Credit Card and spend*:

4.4.1 a minimum of R3500 per month for 3 months on your American Express Gold Credit Card. 4.4.2 a minimum of R4000 per month for 3 months on your American Express Platinum Credit Card. 4.4.3 a minimum of R3500 per month for 3 months on your American Express Gold Credit Card. 4.4.4 a minimum of R3500 per month for 3 months on your Nedbank or Greenbacks Gold Credit Card. 4.4.5 a minimum of R4000 per month for 3 months on your Nedbank or Greenbacks Platinum Credit Card.

• Eligible spend means all spend, excluding cash withdrawals, casino chip purchases, finance or other card charges, fees or taxes levied by us or the government, purchases of travellers cheques or other negotiable instruments, garage card transactions, budget account instalments and interest on them, insurance premiums and internet transfers or payments.

4.5 The spend on your new credit card as set out above must be for a consecutive period of 3 months from the date that the card account is opened, and which must be opened during the promotion period. Only at the end of this 3-month period will be eligible to receive the cash back offer as set out in clause 5 below.

5 The promotion 5.1 If you meet the qualifying criteria in 4 above, you will get R400 (for Nedbank or Greenbacks credit cards) or R400 (for American Express credit cards) cash back per month for 3 months paid into your credit card account.

5.2 You will receive the cash back only once we have verified and confirmed all your details, including compliance with the qualifying criteria in 4 above.

5.3 If you meet the qualifying criteria, we will credit your account for a period of 3 months.

5.4 This promotion for the Nedbank or Nedbank Greenbacks Credit Card will be for the first 300 successful accounts opened in July and August 2021.

6 General

6.1 All information about this promotion and information that is published on any promotional material are part of these terms and conditions. 6.2 We, our associated companies, agents, contractors and sponsors assume no liability for any direct or indirect loss or damage resulting from your participation in the promotion or for any loss or damage. 6.3 We may ask you (at no fee) to consent in writing to endorse, promote and/or advertise any of our services. 7 Exclusions and other important terms

7.1 Nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to or must be interpreted unlawfully to restrict, limit or avoid any of our or your rights or obligations in terms of the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008 (CPA). By participating in the promotion, you acknowledge that it will be managed under the provisions of the CPA. 7.2 This offer is open to selected qualifying participants, excluding our employees, their spouses or life partners, and employees of all our affiliate marketing partners who received the promotional email or an OBTM call. 7.3 Qualifying participants undertake to do all things necessary to enable us to comply with our obligations under the CPA. 7.4 The laws of South Africa govern these terms and conditions.
