THE PROMOTER

The promoter of this Competition is Nedbank Limited (we, us, our).

THE COMPETITION PERIOD

The Competition will start on 19 October 2020 and end on 31 January 2021 (competition period).

WHO MAY ENTER

In order to gain entry into the competition you must be:

  1. a natural person;
  2. 18 years or older;
  3. a South African citizen or permanent resident of South Africa;
  4. a new or existing Nedbank client that:

WHO MAY NOT ENTER

  1. Employees of the Promoter and their immediate family members (spouse or life partner, parents, siblings and children of the director, member or employee of the Promoter, including adopted persons listed in this group but not half- or steprelations);
  2. the Promoter’s suppliers and contractors involved in this competition;
  3. The promoter’s agents, consultants and marketing service providers;
  4. Juristic persons, including, but not limited to, partnerships, trusts, companies and/or close corporations;
  5. Foreign nationals who do not have a valid South African identity document or card;
  6. Nedbank Private Wealth clients and Nedbank4Me clients; and
  7. Clients who are taking out further loans, re-advances, endorsements or building loans, or who are buying through Nedbank-assisted Sales and/or Nedbank repossessed properties.

HOW TO ENTER

The competition will consist of various categories into which participants can gain entry and participants are not limited in terms of these categories and may gain an entry into more than one category.The categories for this competition are:

EXISTING NEDBANK TRANSACTIONAL ACCOUNT AND CREDIT CARD CLIENTS:

Current Nedbank cheque, debit or credit card card/s holders, excluding those card holders as set out in "WHO MAY NOT ENTER", can enter the competition.

NEW NEDBANK TRANSACTIONAL ACCOUNT AND CREDIT CARD CLIENTS:

Any participant who opens a new Nedbank transactional account or credit card, except relating to those accounts specifically excluded herein, can enter the competition.

RESPONSIBLE BORROWER:

  1. The current Nedbank competition which commenced on 1 October titled “Responsible Borrower Campaign” is included in this competition;
  2. The terms and conditions of the foregoing competition shall remain unaltered and apply hereto verbatim;
  3. The terms and conditions of Responsible Borrower Campaign can be found here
  4. Participants who have already entered the Responsible Borrower Campaign will form part of this competition and stand a chance to win their share of the prize;
  5. New participants must meet the criteria as set out above in order to enter this competition;
  6. The Responsible Borrower Campaign is open to all existing home loan, personal loan and MFC clients of Nedbank.

HOME LOANS:

Participants who apply for a home loan will gain a single entry into this competition, provided that the home loan is approved during the competition period.

PERSONAL LOANS:

Participants who take up a personal loan with Nedbank during the competition period will gain a single entry into the competition.

CLIENTS WITH AN OVERDRAFT FACILITY:

Participants who use their overdraft facility during the competition period will gain a single entry into the competition.

DEPOSIT ACCOUNTS

Participants who deposit at least R100 000.00 (One Hundred Thousand Rand) into an Optimum Plus or 12 Month Fixed Deposit account during the competition period will gain a single entry into the competition.

FOREX

Participants who send money to any qualifying 33 African countries during the competition period will gain a single entry into the competition.

In order to gain entry into this competition participants may perform any of the required actions through any Nedbank channel which includes Nedbank branches, online, the Nedbank App or Nedbank Call Centre.

THE PRIZE

  1. Participants in this competition stand a chance to win a share of a total prize pool of R5 000 000.00 (Five Million Rand).
  2. The prize money is divided between the various categories of the competition as set out in "HOW TO ENTER" and the payment of the prize money will be in accordance with "PRIZE WINNERS AND PAYMENT" below to various winners.

HOW TO QUALIFY

EXISTING NEDBANK TRANSACTIONAL ACCOUNT AND CREDIT CARD CLIENTS:

Use your Nedbank cheque, debit or credit card card/s. Each use of a card qualifies as an entry into the competition.

NEW NEDBANK TRANSACTIONAL ACCOUNT AND CREDIT CARD CLIENTS:

Open a Nedbank transactional or credit card account, and use it during the competition period. Each use of a card qualifies as an entry into the competition. In relation to the above, the term “use your card” shall mean all transactions, excluding cash withdrawals, casino chip purchases, fuel purchases, finance or other card charges, fees or taxes levied by us or the government, purchases of travellers cheques or other negotiable instruments, garage card transactions, budget account instalments and interest thereon, insurance premiums and internet transfers or payments (Electronic Funds Transfer [EFT]) from the participants’ aforesaid account/s.

Only participants with active credit card accounts in good standing, including MasterCard, Visa, American Express Blue Box Line Cards and American Express Enterprise Line Credit Cards will qualify. This offer is not applicable to the “old” American Express Credit Card Products. The following Nedbank cards will qualify a participant for this competition;

  1. Nedbank credit cards (classic/gold/platinum)
  2. Nedbank Greenbacks American Express cards (classic/gold/platinum)
  3. SAA Voyager credit cards (classic/gold/premium)
  4. PRB credit cards
  5. American Express Gold and Platinum credit cards.
  6. American Express Black card.
  7. Affinity credit cards (Green/Arts/Children/Sports)
  8. Unlocked.me credit card

RESPONSIBLE BORROWER:

The qualifying criteria for this category is as set out in the terms and conditions which can be found in "RESPONSIBLE BORROWER" above.

For the avoidance of doubt, a winner of this category on any particular draw date will not be eligible to win a further prize under this category.

HOME LOANS:

In order to qualify for the prize in relation to this category a successful applicant for a home loan must take up the home loan with Nedbank and the bond relating to this home loan must be registered in the Deeds office. For the avoidance of doubt, should the home loan not be registered in the deeds office for any reason whatsoever within 5 (Five) months after the approval of the home loan, a participant will forfeit any rights he/she may have to the prize.

PERSONAL LOANS:

The participant must take up a personal loan with Nedbank, for the avoidance of doubt, the loan must be disbursed to the participant in order to qualify for the prize.

CLIENTS WITH AN OVERDRAFT FACILITY:

Simply using your overdraft facility qualifies a participant for the prize.

DEPOSIT ACCOUNTS:

  1. Only participants with an Optimum Plus or 12 Month Fixed Deposit account and who deposit or invest at least R100 000.00 (One Hundred Thousand Rand) during the competition period are eligible to receive the prize.
  2. An amount of R100 000.00 (One Hundred Thousand Rand) must be deposited into the relevant account prior to a draw date in order for the participant to qualify for the prize.

FOREX

All amounts must be paid into an Ecobank account or any account held at any major banks in Nigeria. A participant will only be eligible to win the prize if the money is sent to one of the following qualifying countries;

PRIZE WINNERS AND PAYMENT

  1. Prize winners will be selected weekly, monthly and at the end of the competition period.
  2. All draws will take place at Nedbank Head Office, 135 Rivonia Road, Sandown, Sandton.
  3. Winners will be selected through a randomised algorithm computer draw.
  4. The prize is not transferable and shall not be paid to a third party.
  5. The winners will only be eligible to receive the prize in the event that all of the terms and conditions as it relates to that particular prize was adhered to.
  6. Payment of the prizes:
  • New and existing transactional account and credit card winners: an amount of R10 000.00 (Ten Thousand Rand) will be paid directly to each winner;
  • The Responsible Borrower winner will receive the prize in accordance with the terms and conditions which can be found in "RESPONSIBLE BORROWER" above;
  • Home Loan winners: An amount of R100 000.00 (One Hundred Thousand Rand) will be paid directly into each winner’s access bond account;
  • Personal Loan winners: The outstanding balance of the loan will be paid into the loan account, up to a maximum amount of R50 000.00 (Fifty Thousand Rand) for each winner;
  • Overdraft winners: The outstanding balance on the overdraft facility will be paid up to a maximum amount of R10 000.00 (Ten Thousand Rand) for each winner;
  • Optimum Plus Account winners: An amount of R50 000.00 (Fifty Thousand Rand) will be paid directly to each winner;
  • Month Fixed Notice Account winners: An amount of R20 000.00 (Twenty Thousand Rand) will be paid directly to each winner;
  • Forex winners: An amount of R5 000.00 (Five Thousand Rand) will be paid directly to each winner.

NOTIFICATION TO PRIZE WINNERS AND GENERAL TERMS OF A PRIZE

  1. Winners will be contacted by the Promoter or its authorised agent/s within 5 (Five) business days after the draw date/s, telephonically and/or by SMS.
  2. All reasonable efforts will be made by the promotor in order to contact a winner of a particular prize. Should the promotor however be unable to successfully contact a particular winner, after all reasonable efforts were made to contact a winner, a new winner will be selected by following the criteria as set out in these terms and conditions.
  3. In the event of a dispute the decision of the competition judges of the Promoter will be final and binding on all aspects of the competition and no correspondence will be entered into.
  4. All other costs or expenses relating to the Prize that have not been mentioned in these terms and conditions are excluded from the Prize and are not recoverable.
  5. The Promoter will not be held responsible for any delays in the delivery of the Prize. Such acts include, without limitation, strikes, lockouts, riots, civil disorder, rebellions or revolutions in any country, epidemics, acts of terrorism, vandalism or sabotage, governmental regulations imposed after the fact, communication line failures, power and telecommunications failures, earthquakes, fire, floods or other disasters, or acts of God or war. The Promoter will notify the prizewinner as soon as reasonably possible if the Prizes are affected in this manner.
  6. The Promoter will also not be responsible for any additional conditions imposed by third parties.
  7. The Prize will under no circumstances be provided to third parties and will be provided directly to the verified prizewinner only.
  8. The Promoter reserves the right to replace the prize at any time with another prize of similar commercial value.

GENERAL

  1. All information relating to this competition and published on any competitional material will form part of these terms and conditions.
  2. The Promoter, its associated companies, agents, contractors and sponsors assume no liability for any direct or indirect loss or damage arising from an entrant's participation in the competition or for any other loss or damage.
  3. The Promoter may request the prize winner (at no fee) to consent in writing to endorse, promote and/or advertise any service or product of the Promoter.
  4. A prize winner may, however, decline a request to use his/her personal details or image in marketing material or to participate in the marketing of any of the Promoter's services or products. Such refusal will not affect the awarding of the Prize.
  5. In order to qualify for any benefits related to any product that forms part of a category of this competition the participant will have to adhere to those requirements, these terms and conditions do not waive or amend any existing terms and conditions relating to any product.
