Chase UK is the digital-first retail banking division of JPMorgan Chase offering the tech-forward experience of a fintech with the financial security and FSCS protection of a global bank.
JPMorgan has operated in London for decades, but Chase UK, launched in 2021, was its first retail bank outside the United States. Chase launched its first UK credit card in June 2025.
The Chase credit card currently offers 0% interest on purchases for 3 months, no foreign exchange fees on overseas purchases, and no annual fee. The representative APR after the promotional period is 24.9% variable.
Cardholders who hold both a Chase current account and a Chase saver account can earn 2% cashback (up to £20 per month) on groceries, restaurants, cafes, takeaways, everyday transport, fuel and public EV charging points, subject to eligibility conditions. This cashback applies across both the debit and credit card, not exclusively to the credit card.
The card is managed entirely through the Chase app, which includes real-time spending notifications, instant card freeze and unfreeze, spend tracking, and visibility of remaining 0% period. Like Chase's debit card, the credit card is numberless; physical card details are only accessible via the app.
A £12 fee applies for missed or late payments. The minimum monthly repayment is £5, or the full balance if less than £5.

APR | 24.9% variable APR on purchases after the 0% promotional period ends (range of 24.9% to 29.9%); cash annual rate is also 24.9% to 29.9% |
Note, there's no interest-free grace period on cash transactions (interest starts accumulating immediately). Checking eligibility doesn't guarantee acceptance, which depends on Chase's own criteria and checks.
Representative example: Representative 24.9% APR variable. Based on an assumed credit limit of £1,200 at a purchase rate of 24.9% p.a. (variable) with no annual fee.
The current 3-month 0% purchase period is short by market standards. As of July 2026, a number of cards offer longer interest-free periods on purchases.
A look at a range of credit card websites on 30 August 2026 found that the longest 0% purchase periods currently available reach up to 26 months, with several cards in the 20–25 month range available to applicants with good credit histories. You can find current market rates by checking one of the many credit card comparison sites in the UK. A longer 0% purchase card may be more suitable for the purpose of spreading the cost of a large purchase over an extended period.
The card charges no foreign transaction fees on purchases made abroad, applying the Mastercard exchange rate without markup. Chase's debit card also has no foreign transaction fees on purchases. The credit card does not currently offer cashback on overseas spending; that element of the cashback offer applies to UK spending only.
For fee-free overseas spending on a credit card, other travel card options include the Barclaycard Rewards Visa (representative 28.9% APR variable, 0.25% cashback on eligible spending) and the Halifax Clarity card (representative 23.9% variable APR, no FX fees). Both offer the additional benefit of Section 75 consumer protection on purchases between £100 and £30,000 (as does the Chase credit card).
Representative example (Barclaycard Rewards): Representative 28.9% APR variable. Based on an assumed credit limit of £1,200 at a purchase rate of 28.9% p.a. (variable) with no annual fee.
Applicants must be existing Chase current account holders, aged 18 or over, and UK residents. Eligibility can be checked via the Chase app using a soft search, which does not affect the applicant's credit score. A full credit check is carried out on application. Not all applicants will be offered the same terms; Chase confirms the personalised offer at the eligibility stage before a full application is submitted.
The card has no annual fee, no foreign transaction fees and is managed within the Chase app. It's only available to existing Chase current account customers, and the 0% period (3 months) is shorter than on dedicated 0% purchase cards.
Any balance remaining after the 0% period ends will be charged interest at 24.9% APR variable.
Card details correct as of 30 August 2026. Terms, rates and features are subject to change — always verify current details at chase.co.uk before applying. This article is for general information only and does not constitute financial advice.
