Asda Cashback Credit Card

The Asda Cashback Credit Card is no longer available to new applicants. This page is kept as a record of what the card offered.

ClearScore is a credit broker, not a lender.

The Asda Cashback Credit Card was a no-annual-fee rewards card that paid cashback on spending, with a higher rate on purchases made at Asda.

It paid 1% back on Asda purchases — covering groceries, fuel from Asda filling stations, insurance, clothing, Asda Living stores and George.com — and a lower rate on everything else. That non-Asda rate started at 0.5% and was reduced to 0.2% from 13 April 2018.

The cashback wasn't paid as a statement credit. It came as Asda vouchers, which could only be spent at Asda — so the value was tied to shopping there rather than being usable as cash against the balance.

The card sat alongside a paid sibling, the Asda Cashback Plus Credit Card, which charged a monthly fee and paid between 1% and 2%. The break-even point between the two was around £300 a month of Asda spending: below that, the free card paid more once the Plus card's fee was accounted for; above it, the paid card did.

Asda Money is a trading name of Asda Financial Services Limited, which has used different providers for its credit cards over the years.

The card is no longer open to new applications.

Asda's current rewards credit card is the Asda Money Credit Card, which pays rewards in Asda Pounds through the Asda Rewards app rather than as vouchers.

Our Asda Money Credit Card review covers its current rates, rewards and fees.
