Flybe Credit Card: no longer available

The Flybe Credit Card is no longer available. Flybe ceased operations in 2020 and the credit card programme ended alongside the airline. This page is kept as a record of what the card offered.

The Flybe Credit Card, issued by Creation Financial Services, was a no-annual-fee rewards card that worked differently from most airline cards. Rather than earning miles redeemable against any flight, cardholders earned Spend&Fly credits that unlocked Bonus Return Flights on Flybe routes once annual spending reached set thresholds.

The thresholds were tiered by fare type and destination, starting at £4,000 of annual spend for a return flight within the UK and rising for flights between the UK and EU member states, with higher thresholds for fare types that included baggage allowance and seat selection. New cardholders could also earn a Bonus Return Flight by spending £250 in the first six months. Bonus Return Flights covered the fare only.

Spend&Fly credits expired 12 months after they were earned. The scheme was separate from Avios, which Flybe awarded to passengers for flying rather than for card spending; that partnership ended in April 2019.

Flybe closed the card to new applicants in late 2018. The airline entered administration on 5 March 2020 and ceased all operations the same day, making it one of the largest UK airline collapses in recent years. The credit card programme ended alongside it.

Flybe's network was concentrated on regional UK and short-haul European routes, served predominantly from Belfast, Birmingham, Cardiff, Exeter and Southampton.

No airline credit card currently operates on the Spend&Fly model, where rewards are tied to annual spending thresholds rather than miles earned per pound. UK airline cards now use miles-based schemes.
