Hilton HHonors Platinum Visa: Free Hotel Rewards Credit Card

The Hilton HHonors Platinum Visa is no longer available to new applicants. This page is kept as a record of what the card offered.

The Hilton HHonors Platinum Visa was a no-annual-fee card issued by Barclaycard that earned Hilton Honors points on spending. Its most notable feature was a welcome offer of a free weekend night at any Hilton property for spending £750 in the first 90 days, with the voucher valid for six months. Cardholders could also earn Hilton Gold status by spending £10,000 within a calendar year.

Barclaycard removed the card from the market to new applicants in early 2018, stating at the time that it was reviewing the proposition with Hilton. Existing cardholders were not immediately affected.

The withdrawal came during a broader retreat from UK co-branded travel cards, driven largely by the EU cap limiting interchange fees to 0.3%, which made rewards programmes harder to fund. No replacement Hilton credit card has since launched in the UK.

There is currently no Hilton-branded credit card available in the UK. American Express Membership Rewards points, earned on various Amex cards, can be transferred to Hilton Honors.
