Miles & More is the loyalty programme of the Lufthansa Group, covering Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings and a range of other Star Alliance partners. Members earn miles on flights and through hotel, car hire and retail partners, redeemable for flights and upgrades across more than 30 airline partners.

The UK card was issued by MBNA. The free version earned 0.75 Miles & More miles per £1 spent, and the account included an American Express card alongside a Visa or Mastercard, with the Amex element earning at a higher rate. Holding and using the card also prevented Miles & More miles from expiring, which otherwise happened three years after they were earned unless the holder had Lufthansa status.

MBNA closed applications across its entire airline credit card range in November 2017, and wrote to Miles & More cardholders in 2018 to confirm the card would close that July. Existing holders were transferred to MBNA-branded cards that did not earn airline miles. The withdrawal was driven largely by the EU cap limiting interchange fees to 0.3%, which made co-branded rewards cards harder to fund.

A Diners Club and Mastercard combination was subsequently launched in the UK, carrying an annual fee and operating as a charge card requiring full repayment each month. That product is also no longer available to new UK applicants.

Miles & More credit cards remain available in a number of other markets, issued by local banks rather than by Miles & More directly, with terms and earn rates set by each issuing bank.

UK residents cannot apply for a Miles & More credit card, but a Miles & More account remains open to UK residents. Miles can still be earned by flying with Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings or other Star Alliance partners, and through hotel, car hire and other partner spending.
