NatWest no longer offers a student credit card. This page is kept as a record of what the card offered.
ClearScore is a credit broker, not a lender.
The NatWest Student Credit Card was a no-annual-fee card for students, available to holders of a NatWest student bank account. It was open to both UK and international students, with no income requirement and no minimum credit history — reflecting that students often have neither.
The card carried a representative APR of around 18.9% variable, with a credit limit typically between £250 and £500. Purchases received up to 56 days interest-free where the balance was cleared in full each month. NatWest offered an eligibility checker, allowing applicants to gauge their chances without a mark on their credit file.
NatWest has since withdrawn from the student credit card market and now points students towards its student overdraft instead.
Several other UK banks still offer student credit cards, typically with similar features: no annual fee, a modest credit limit, and eligibility tied to holding a student current account with the same provider.
Our guide to credit cards for students sets out which providers currently offer them, along with their representative APRs and eligibility criteria.
