The Tesco Premium Credit Card is no longer available to new applicants. This page is kept as a record of what the card offered.
ClearScore is a credit broker, not a lender.
The Tesco Premium was a rewards credit card aimed at frequent Tesco shoppers. It carried a £150 annual fee — among the highest in the UK credit card market at the time.
Cardholders earned Clubcard points on spending at Tesco in addition to the points earned through the standard Clubcard scheme, plus an annual bonus of Clubcard points on reaching a qualifying spend threshold. The card also included travel insurance, broadly equivalent to Tesco Bank's mid-tier travel policy and covering winter sports, and a 1% enhanced exchange rate on Tesco Travel Money bought at an in-store bureau.
The travel insurance was widely seen as the card's main justification for the fee, since the rewards on non-Tesco spending were modest relative to the annual cost.
Tesco Bank withdrew the card from sale to new applicants in June 2018.
Tesco Bank continues to offer credit cards that earn Clubcard points, without an annual fee.
