The Aqua Start was NewDay's entry-level Aqua card, aimed at people with virtually no credit history in the UK and was intended as a first credit card.

It carried a representative APR of 49.9% variable — higher than the other Aqua cards — and offered no cashback, rewards or other bonuses. Practical features included the ability to change the monthly payment date and free text reminders.

The card is no longer open to new applications. Existing cardholders were unaffected when it closed.

The Aqua Classic is aimed at a similar part of the market — people with limited credit history or a poor one.
